Georgian Cottage, Stanmore – The Collector
This unique two bedroomed Georgian Cottage circa 1822 is located in the conservation area in Stanmore, London.
The cottage required updating and insulating where possible, but keeping the original features but adding sympathetic touches to align with heritage of the property.
Unfortunately the original oak floor joists, possibly old ships beams, had to be replaced but were repurposed and uplit to become features in the interior and exterior schemes. Bespoke French doors from the kitchen were installed, allowing easy access to the rear garden.
The integration of the oven hob and extractor fan were placed into the chimney breast, allowing the dining table to be centred, improving circulation space.
Bespoke spray finished cabinet furniture, including cupboards and wardrobes were built to accommodate the lack of storage at the property.
Made to measure soft furnishings including Roman blinds, pillowshams and cushions were specified, using sympathetic fabric designs, textures and a palette of heritage colours. The overall decorating scheme complemented the inherited furniture and collections of treasured items.
